In September last year, I discovered that the IAAF World Athletics were taking place in London in 2017. After hearing great things about the volunteering experience at the 2012 Olympics, I was keen to apply to be a ‘Runner’ (the name given to all the volunteers).

Nominations close soon for the 10th year of England Athletics’ volunteer awards. Each of 8 regions select winners who attend a special Regional Awards Celebration Ceremony between September and October. These winners are then entered into the National Awards, with the overall winners invited to the 2017 NationalAwards and Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday 14th October.
