Brunel host BUCS Cross Country

Tomorrow, Brunel will host the National BUCS Cross Country Championships.

The race takes place at Hillingdon fields.

Women will race first at midday with Brunel and Team GB athlete Phillipa Bowden hoping to make the most of the home advantage. The Brunel Psychology student has had a unfaltering start in the LUCA XC league, winning every race. She will face stiff competition from in-form Jess Judd who finished third last year to Rebecca Murray and Emily Hosker-Thornhill, but has since won the National and Inter Counties championships.

Murray wont return to the championships, but Hosker-Thornhill is named in a strong St Mary’s squad alongside South of England champion, Phoebe Law. Manchester University’s European under-20 champion Harriet Knowles-Jones is also in contention for a medal position.

Alex Teuten, champion in 2017, wont be defending his title in the men’s race as he works towards his aim of making the GB team for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships.
