On the 24th January, 77 men and 60 women braved harsh weather conditions to race the 4th and penultimate event in the LUCA Cross Country League’s calendar. Patrick Roddy of UCL won the men’s race, finishing the 3 laps of the hill in 24 minutes, followed quickly by Oliver Dickinson (SMU) and Oliver Newtion (Imperial). Wimbledon Common once again saw the University of London Cross-Country championships and Bannister Cup take place, on 15/11/17, the last LUCA XC League race of 2017. On what was a dreary, muddy course Philippa Bowden of Brunel once again stormed to victory in the women’s individual race with a time of 16:49, ahead of Georgie Hartigan and Typhaine Christiaen of Saint Mary’s and LSE respectively.
