UCL aim for third consecutive Outdoor Series title
The fourth LUCA Outdoor Series gets underway this Sunday at Parliament Hill. Reigning champions, UCL will claim home advantage as they attempt an assault on an unprecedented third consecutive series title. The club has every right to feel confident after securing a double indoor championship victory in November and finishing first and second in the Men’s and Women’s LUCA XC league respectively. On returning to the venue where they beat King’s in a convincing varsity performance last month, UCL president Henry Murdoch said “UCL are undefeated at athletics over the […]
UCL win athletics quadruple
UCL have won the LUCA Outdoor Series and University of London Outdoor championships, adding to the two indoor championships they won in November. There was no doubt at the start of the third stage that UCL would win the Outdoor Series. But for the majority of the afternoon, LSE led the University of London Outdoor Championships. Strong showings in the relays saw UCL leapfrog LSE into the lead, winning the championships with 233 points to LSE’s 209 and King’s 201. Full results available here and on powerof10 soon. LUCA Outdoor final build-up
Battersea’s Millennium Arena will once again host the LUCA Outdoor Series final tomorrow. UCL are expected to win the series but there will be plenty of drama in the individual events and between teams competing for the University of London Outdoor Championship. If the UofL championships had been held at Twickenham or Woodford, UCL would have won both times. However, LSE and King’s have increased the size of their teams for tomorrow’s meet. Barts will also be competing for the first time. Points for the UofL champs are calculated in the same […]
LUCA athletes excel at BUCS Outdoor Championships
The May bank holiday weekend brought much excitement for student athletics in the form of the BUCS outdoor athletics championships. There were spectacular performances from students around the UK, including new records in the Pole Vault (well done to Adam Hague with 5.35m), Hammer (well done to Taylor Campbell of Loughborough with 73.40m), as well as both the seated discus and shot put for Vanessa Wallace (F34) and Stacie Gaston (F57) in their respective categories. Being LUCA though, we want to give a great big shout-out to the students of […]
