Change of venue announced for second LUCA outdoor series meet

  The second meet of the LUCA Outdoor Series will now be held at Woodford Athletics Track. The meet had been scheduled to take place at Newham on the 9th April, but due to a double booking, the meet has relocated to Woodford. The date remains the same. Woodfood athletics track is based at Ashton Playing Fields, which is accessible on the Central Line (nearest stop: Woodford) All events except steeplechase and pole vault have been confirmed. Try out The Hawkshead Hobble 5km & 10km

Fancy a challenge? RVC TRI club are hosting a cross-country 5km and 10km race on the 14th May 2017 in aid of Trusty Paws. This amazing, volunteer-run charity works alongside the homeless in London, making sure their pets get the health care they need. The route will take you through the woods and fields surrounding RVC’s stunning Hertfordshire campus, starting and finishing in our new sports centre. UCL take the lead at the St Mary’s GP

Current LUCA Outdoor Series holders, UCL opened a 51 point lead at the first meet of the LUCA Outdoor Series at St Mary’s. Conditions were mild and windy in Twickenham, South West London for the first of three LUCA Outdoor Series meets. This was the first time the series had visited St Mary’s Track, resulting in a strong turn out from the ‘blue and white army’. The University of London Athletics Club are hosting a drinks reception for all student’s to celebrate the start of the outdoor season. Among the distinguished guests, former Olympian and coach to Christine Ohorugu, Lloyd Cowan (MBE) will be in attendance. The reception will be held at the East India Club, St James Square on Monday 13th March. The first LUCA outdoor series meet follows on Sunday, at St Mary’s Twickenham. Who are the speediest cross-country runners this year in the London student population? This question has been put to rest after the final LUCA London Cross-country League race for the season. Full results are posted here. The race, held at Bushy Park, took place on the 1st March 2017 and enjoyed a good turn-out of athletes from across the LUCA member clubs.
