Calling all girls – ‘This Girl Can’ neon rave run

Are you ready to get your running shoes on and be part of something huge?!

As part of the nationwide ‘This Girl Can’ Campaign, LUCA are inviting all you lovely ladies to show London what you are capable of by joining us on our Neon Rave Run on the 10th November. Let’s celebrate active women who are doing their thing, no matter how well they do it, how they look or how red their face gets – or in our case, how much neon paint is on it.

The last LUCA ‘This Girl Can’ Neon run was held in March 2016 and was a huge success, with over 150 girls participating. The runs are part of a national campaign to encourage women of all ages, sizes, and abilities, to get involved in sport. Check out This Girl Can’s official site for inspiring stories and more activities.

Have you ever avoided running in public or been too shy to join in with a sports team? Well, this is your time, let go of that fear.

We’re all scared of being judged, but we need to stand together and show each other that exercising makes us strong and beautiful. Is there a sport you have always wanted to try or do you simply want to feel better in your own skin? Give a new sport a go and a whole new world will be opened up to you. Make new friends, become healthier and be your own inspiration!

Full details of the neon rave run on the 10th November are here. Runners can either meet at their University designated spot with a topped up oyster (check the webpage for location and time), or at St. Paul’s Cathedral (South/riverside) at 6:45pm dressed in (running appropriate) neon kit. We will then adorn you with all manner of neon attire and face paint – it should be hard to miss!

There will be an opportunity at St. Paul’s to give bags and belongings to someone who will meet you at the finish line. Please try to keep this to a minimum though as there could be a lot of people!

All girls studying at London universities, of all running abilities, are welcome (boys, no sneaking along wearing wigs)! We will be running at a very chill pace for 6 km options and regular breaks at iconic spots, music and lights – think: mobile party!

Starting at St. Paul’s, we’ll embark on a running tour of some of London’s iconic landmarks: Shakespeare’s Globe, the London Eye, Westminster, Tower of London. So get read to take in all the sights of London.

Come along, bring your girlfriends and celebrate each other! Spread the word…

Who RUN the world? Girls!
