University of London Championships

Students enrolled at the following colleges are eligible to score for their college in the University of London Championships. Where these colleges do not have athletics clubs, students should join the University of London Athletics Club. The club offers training in partnership with UCL, King’s and LSE. Colleges in bold have independent athletics clubs that are affiliated with LUCA.

United Hospitals Championships

The United Hospitals (UH) refers to a collection of London Medical & Dentistry Schools plus the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). There are two UH competitions in the year: the Bannister Cup (Cross-Country, embedded within the third XC fixture (Wimbledon)) and the UH Shield (Indoor Athletics, embedded within LUCA Indoor (Lee Valley))

All students at Barts and the London, St George’s and the RVC are eligible for the United Hospitals Championships. Students at these colleges do not need to alter their myLUCA profiles. Students at King’s College, University College and Imperial College who are eligible as per the definition below MUST confirm their eligibility on their myLUCA profile.

An eligible student is someone who is required to complete a clinical placement in a hospital or veterinary practice as a part of their degree or who studies biomedicine or bioveterinary.

To confirm eligability, follow these steps:

  1. Login to myLUCA.
  2. Edit your profile.
  3. Scroll down to find ‘UH Eligible?’ and select ‘Yes’.

Alumni are very welcome to compete in LUCA events, but should be entered via the Alumni club, Motspur AC.
