Athletics competitions cannot take place without a team of dedicated officials. Nationwide, the diminishing number of officials is being stretched thinner each year. Officials are vital to keeping our sport alive and accessible to all.
LUCA takes it’s responsibility to addressing this challenge seriously. That is why we launched the Officials Training Scheme in October 2024. The scheme provides full costs for students to take a Level 1 Officiating course with England Athletics. As of February, 10 students have qualified.
