London XC Relays set to debut at Parliament Hill

LUCA is excited to announce the launch of a brand new flagship event: London XC Relays, taking place at Parliament Hill on Wednesday 8th October 2025, in collaboration with UCL Running, Athletics & Cross Country Club.

This will be the first time cross country relays have featured in the LUCA calendar, and we can’t think of a better way to debut them than by partnering with one of LUCA’s biggest clubs. With UCL co-hosting, the event is set to combine LUCA’s tradition of high-quality competition with the energy and community spirit of a student-led club.

The format is simple:

  • Teams of 4 runners (men’s, women’s, or mixed)
  • Each runner takes on one leg of the 2.5KM course before handing over to a teammate

The new relays are designed to be an entry point for beginners and social runners, making it the perfect event for freshers and newcomers to try cross country in a supportive team environment.

How to Enter

  • Clubs must declare the number of teams they want to enter by Friday 4th October, 12:00 midday.
  • Clubs will be billed for this number of teams.
  • On race day, clubs will confirm which teams go into each category (men’s, women’s, or mixed).
  • Clubs do not need to declare which runners are in each team. There will not be official split times available.

Why Run the Relays?

  • Be part of the first ever LUCA XC Relays
  • Hosted by LUCA and UCL at the iconic Parliament Hill
  • A fun, social introduction to cross country
  • Celebrate afterwards with your teammates at the post-race social

📅 Date: Wednesday 8th October 2025
