Wimbledon Common XC Results

Over 200 athletes turned up to race at Wimbledon on Wednesday, which saw the UL and UH XC champs races alongside the regular LCL fixture. Results for this race can now be found on the results page. Furthermore, results for the first two races, and the overall standings, have been updated. See you all again after Christmas for Ally Pally!

Top GB coach moves to King’s Athletics as new track opens

Top GB sprints coach, Lloyd Cowan (MBE) has joined King’s Athletics as head sprints coach. Cowan’s move to King’s Athletics also marks his move back to the refurbished Southwark Park Athletics Centre, where he worked for many years before the track fell into disrepair. LUCA wins ‘Best Project’ at EA London awards

LUCA has won recognition by the National Governing body by winning ‘best project’ at the London regional volunteer awards. On the 16th November 2016, the London Region England Athletics Volunteer awards were held at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health. This event brought together a number of individuals and groups from around London that are dedicated to making athletics better through volunteering. Last Thursday, LUCA took part in the national ‘This Girl Can’ campaign with its Neon Rave Run. As noted by a spokesperson of the campaign, This Girl Can was created in response to research revealing “a huge difference in the number of men and women playing sport”.
