James Findon - Chair of the Board of Trustees Mee James Findon - Chair of the Board of Trustees Meet James, LUCA’s Founder and now Chair of the Board of Trustees. Since creating LUCA in 2015, James has helped shape it into the one of the leading student sports organisations in the UK. James is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at King’s College London, specialising in neurodevelopmental conditions, mental health, and brain–body interactions. His research focuses on autistic adults, anxiety, interoception, physical activity, and gastrointestinal health, combining behavioural, physiological and neuroimaging methods. He teaches across clinical psychology and neuroscience and has leadership roles at programme, school and college level. A former president of @kclaxc and @ul_athletics_club and with ten years’ experience running LUCA, from competition organisation to governance reform, digital systems, club development and long-term strategic planning, James brings deep continuity, institutional memory and a commitment to building an inclusive, student-centred athletics community. #LUCATrustees #Vision2030 #StudentAthletics #Governance
Michael Naylor Meet Michael Naylor, academic and Michael Naylor Meet Michael Naylor, academic and experienced board director with a global track record across community and elite sport. Michael is Programme Director at the Institute for Sport Business, Loughborough University London, and previously served as Associate Professor at AUT’s Sport Performance Research Institute New Zealand (SPRINZ). He holds a PhD in Sport Marketing from Florida State University and has worked across athlete development, coaching, officiating and research. His governance experience spans croquet, football, squash, ice hockey and national/regional sport organisation. His Board Director role and leadership of the National Sport Club Survey led to a Life Membership with the New Zealand Amateur Sport Association in 2024. Laurence Lundy Meet Laurence Lundy, a former cros Laurence Lundy Meet Laurence Lundy, a former cross-country captain at the University of Kent (@ukc.athletics ) whose club recently became a full LUCA member. Laurence combines lived experience as a student-athlete, with fresh professional ambition: after studying Economics, he’s now completing an MSc in Finance at University of Bath. With over 15 years in high-performance and sports-development roles at major organisations (including with elite institutions such as UEFA and Juventus), Dan has designed and delivered large-scale global development projects. Dan now serves as Founder & CEO of MIVA Sports, providing strategies, project design, implementation, and stakeholder mentorship - helping sports organisations grow their reach and impact across grassroots, participation, and elite levels.
