LCL affiliation price freeze

LUCA is pleased to announce the fee’s for the London Colleges League (LCL) have been held at the 2014-15 rates. The largest clubs will pay a £100 fee which covers all athletes across all five races. Smaller clubs pay either £75 or £45 dependent on the amount of athletes. Guests are charged £3 per race. Whilst the fee’s have remained the same, the amount of races has been cut to five. London competitions merge

LCAS and the cross country London Colleges League (LCL) will join together to form the London Universities and Colleges Athletics Association (LUCA), which will manage both competitions from the start of the 15/16 season. London will become the first city in the UK to have it’s own regional university-specific athletics body, which will have responsibilties beyond organizing the LCL and LCAS. King’s crowned champions

King’s College London have won the first ever London Colleges Athletics Series at the final in Battersea, The third and final LCAS Grand Prix was a tense affair for series founders King’s College and Imperial College London – both of whom were in touching distance of the series title. Boosted by the presence of GB junior international, Laviai Neilsen, King’s took advantage of an inspired team and won the title. Relay Medley Planned for LCAS Final

The LCAS organising committee (LCASOC) has today announced it will be staging a relay medley at the LCAS final at Battersea on the 30th May. Many variants of the relay medley’s exist, but race organisers from King’s, Imperial and University College have voted to stage a 2 X 100, 1 X 200, 1 X 400, 1 X 800. The event will see sprinters and middle distance runners compete in the same team for the LCAS Relay Medley Championship.
