The Hawkshead Hobble will be hosted by the Royal Veterinary College Triathlon Club on 8th March 2020. With more tickets available than ever before, we invite you all to join us in achieving our goal of raising £1000 for the Potters Bar Foodbank. Race 5km or 10km through rural Hertfordshire. The Royal Veterinary College are hosting the 3rd edition of their successful Hawkshead Hobble, a 5 and 10km race around their scenic Potters Bar campus. Taking place on Sunday March 24th, RVC promise ‘a lovely rolling course through the farmlands’, according to president Luke Gunter, and entries are priced at just £8/£10 for 5/10k (affiliated) or £10/£12 (unaffiliated). Having raised money for the Rainforest Trust and Nowzad in the past, the race is supporting a very worthy cause this year in the Potters Bar Foodbank. Previous editions of the race […]

Indoor Champs round up

Brunel
December 7, 2018 Jack Dickenson

Last Saturday, LUCA descended on Lee Valley for what promised to be another fantastic Indoor Championships, with 236 athletes entered across the board. Incorporating both the University of London and United Hospitals Championships within the overall LUCA Champs, the day saw a range of excellent performances throughout, as well as some unexpected results. Brunel had never won a LUCA title before and it was widely expected that the fight for the David Morgan Cup would be between the much larger universities of UCL (37 athletes) and King’s (33). However, a team […]

Famines and earthquakes, riots and strikes and politicians fill the airwaves with dreary tidings. There are several ways you can respond to such as stimuli; you could: a) stop watching the news and watch children’s cartoons instead, or b) do something about it.  After experiencing first hand the effects of rhino poaching after conducting a post mortem on a deceased rhino, I, as part […]

Drizzle can’t dampen vet’s race

The Hawkshead Hobble, held at the RVC Hawkshead campus, took place on Sunday 8th April. In total 71 runners started and finished the course. Light drizzle throughout the day and a wet and muddy course made the run even more challenging, but it was thoroughly enjoyed (and endured) by all. The organising team are grateful to all of the RVC staff that supported the race as well as all the RVC student marshals who guided runners around the course and helped tremendously with the post-race clean-up. The race, now in […]
