Indoor Champs round up

December 7, 2018 Jack Dickenson

Last Saturday, LUCA descended on Lee Valley for what promised to be another fantastic Indoor Championships, with 236 athletes entered across the board. Incorporating both the University of London and United Hospitals Championships within the overall LUCA Champs, the day saw a range of excellent performances throughout, as well as some unexpected results. Brunel had never won a LUCA title before and it was widely expected that the fight for the David Morgan Cup would be between the much larger universities of UCL (37 athletes) and King’s (33). However, a team […]

Why I ran the New Forest Marathon dressed as a rhino

November 21, 2018 Seth Kennard

If you take a look at the news at the moment you could be forgiven for thinking that you’re watching repeats or recordings of unwelcome news. Famines and earthquakes, riots and strikes and politicians fill the airwaves with dreary tidings. Drizzle can’t dampen vet’s race

April 11, 2018 Seth Kennard

The Hawkshead Hobble, held at the RVC Hawkshead campus, took place on Sunday 8th April. In total 71 runners started and finished the course. Light drizzle throughout the day and a wet and muddy course made the run even more challenging, but it was thoroughly enjoyed (and endured) by all. The organising team are grateful to all of the RVC staff that supported the race as well as all the RVC student marshals who guided runners around the course and helped tremendously with the post-race clean-up. The race, now in […]

LUCA Outdoor final build-up

May 26, 2017 James Findon

Battersea’s Millennium Arena will once again host the LUCA Outdoor Series final tomorrow. UCL are expected to win the series but there will be plenty of drama in the individual events and between teams competing for the University of London Outdoor Championship. If the UofL championships had been held at Twickenham or Woodford, UCL would have won both times. However, LSE and King’s have increased the size of their teams for tomorrow’s meet. Barts will also be competing for the first time. Points for the UofL champs are calculated in the same […]
